Before you’re able to transfer with us, we need to confirm that you are you — and not someone else.
What we need to verify your identity
In all countries, it’s important to give your full name, address and date of birth. Please make sure these are accurate and spelled correctly.
United States and Canada
We will first try to verify you with the details on your Ria profile. If we can’t, we will ask other questions (based on your personal documentation) to attempt verification.
If we are still unable to verify you based on your answers, you will not be allowed to send a transfer.
You can still send an international transfer (from US or Canada) or domestic transfer (from Canada only) if you send a transfer of $999 or less.
You can attempt to verify your account again after 7 days.
EU and Chile
You'll be asked to complete identity verification before confirming your first transfer. You will be asked to upload a picture of your ID and record a selfie video performing simple tasks — like looking left and right and saying numbers out loud.
Once your identity has been verified, you'll be able to complete your transfer. You'll only be asked to complete this process once.
You have three attempts to complete identity verification. If you need more attempts, contact Customer Care.
Other countries
You will receive an email from us asking for more information to help verify your identity. If it’s not in your main inbox, check your spam folder. After all of your information is received and processed by us, you should be all set to start sending money.
Due to government regulations, Australia requires you to go through additional security measures to verify your address and identity. Learn more here:
