If you're sending money to a bank account in Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan, you'll need to provide the recipient's Visa or Mastercard card number.
Only Visa and Mastercard numbers are accepted. You won’t be able to send money to any other card in these countries.
Visa and Mastercard bank card number format
These bank card numbers are 16 digits long.
- Visa card numbers start with a 4
- Mastercard numbers start with a 5
If the card number starts with a number other than 4 or 5, it isn’t a Visa card or Mastercard and therefore won’t be accepted. |
Transfers to these countries will be made in Euros
Transfers to these countries are made in Euros. This means that, if the recipient’s card is in Euros, the amount that is transferred will be deposited.
If the recipient’s card is in a local currency, the recipient’s bank will convert the transfer from Euros to the local currency at its own rate. The recipient should contact the bank that issued the card to find out the exchange rate.
