The Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI) is a joint effort by the State Bank of Pakistan, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, and the Ministry of Finance. Its aim is to make sending money to Pakistan cheaper, faster, and easier.
How does it work?
Customers sending money from Australia, Brunei, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Middle East, South Africa, the UK or the USA enjoy zero fees on transfers over 200 USD or local currency equivalent
PRI payments to international passport holders
Payments under the PRI (Pakistan Remittance Initiative) to international passport holders are not permitted for regulatory and compliance reasons.
However, foreign nationals may receive payments using a Proof of Registration (PoR) card - an official identity document issued by NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) in collaboration with the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
