Sending money using the Ria website and app is simple, but you’ll need to know some information about the recipient before starting a transfer.
No matter what method you’re using to send money, you’ll need to know the country and address of the person you’re planning on sending it to.
The information you'll need to provide about your recipient depends on where you're sending money to. At a minimum, you'll need their:
- First and last name (as per your recipient's government-issued photo ID)
- Phone number
Depending on where you're sending money and the delivery method you choose, we might ask you to provide more information, such as your recipients address or their bank account details.
This requirement is standard practice in the financial industry and is primarily driven by our regulatory obligations under applicable laws.
By checking recipient details we can make sure your money's delivered safely and securely.
The app and website will always tell you the total amount — including exchange rates, fees, and how much your recipient will get — before you send.
If you haven’t already added a payment method to your account, you should have it to hand when setting up a transfer.
Depending on their country, recipients can receive money transfers through bank deposits, cash pickup, home delivery, or mobile wallets. You will need to collect additional information from the recipient based on which payout method you chose.
