Sending money using the Ria is simple, but you’ll need to know some information about the recipient before starting a transfer.
Destination
No matter what method you’re using to send money, you’ll need to know the country and address of the person you’re planning on sending it to.
Recipient information
The information you'll need to provide about your recipient depends on where you're sending money to. At a minimum, you'll need their:
- First and last name (as per your recipient's government-issued photo ID)
- Phone number
Depending on the amount and destination of your transfer, as well as your chosen delivery method, we may request additional information, such as your recipient's address, ID, or bank account details.
This requirement is standard practice in the financial industry and is primarily driven by our regulatory obligations under applicable laws.
By checking recipient details we can make sure your money's delivered safely and securely.
Amount
The app and website will always tell you the total amount — including exchange rates, fees, and how much your recipient will get — before you send.
Payment method
If you haven’t already added a payment method to your account, you should have it to hand when setting up a transfer.
Payout method
Depending on their country, recipients can receive money transfers through bank deposits, cash pickup, home delivery, or mobile wallets. You will need to collect additional information from the recipient based on which payout method you chose.
