Due to government regulations, Australia requires you to go through additional security measures to verify your address and identity. This article covers what you’ll need to provide to pass verification when you go to set up an account. As always, Customer Care is always available to help if issues arise.
Once your address and identity are verified, your account will be complete and you’ll be able to send money.
In this article, we’ll cover:
What we need to manually verify your address
During the registration process, we will ask for your address and automatically try to verify it. If we can’t, you’ll need to provide one of the following:
- A driver's license, proof of age or photo card, or health care card issued by the Australian government
- A notice from Medicare, Centrelink, or the Australian Tax Office (ATO) issued within the last 12 months
- A notice or receipt issued by a local government or utility provider (gas, water, electricity, etc.), a bank statement, a landline telephone, internet broadband bill, or real estate agency issued within the last 3 months
- A lease agreement showing a current lease period
You’ll receive an email if we need any additional documentation to verify your address. Respond to that email with the needed documentation.
What we need to manually verify your identity
After address verification, you will be asked to provide your ID country, ID type, number, and expiration date. Like before, we’ll automatically try to verify your identity. If we can’t, you’ll need to provide Customer Care with one of the following:
