Pay with MB Way on the Ria website
To get started
- Log in to your Ria account on the website and click "Send" or "Send money".
Enter your transfer details
- Choose the country you're sending money to.
- Enter the amount in the 'You send' or 'Recipient gets' field.
- Select your preferred delivery method (bank account, cash pickup, mobile wallet, or home delivery, where available) and enter your recipient's details.
Select MB Way as your payment method
- On the payment step, choose MB Way from the list of available payment methods.
- Enter the Portuguese mobile phone number linked to your MB Way account.
- Review your transfer details — including the total amount and fees — then click "Continue".
Approve the payment in your MB Way app
- You'll receive a push notification in your MB Way app. Open the app and approve the payment using your MB Way PIN or biometrics.
- You have 4 minutes to approve the payment before the request expires. If it expires, you can go back and try again.
- Once approved, you'll see a confirmation screen on the Ria website and your transfer will be on its way.

Approve the payment in your MB Way app
- A push notification will be sent to your MB Way app. Open it and approve the payment with your MB Way PIN or biometrics.
- You have 4 minutes to approve before the request times out. If this happens, simply go back and try again.
- Once confirmed, the Ria app will show a success screen and your transfer will be processed.
Tips for using MB Way
- Make sure your MB Way app is set up before you start your transfer. You'll need to have MB Way active on your bank account and your phone number registered.
- Use the same phone number you registered with MB Way — this is how we send the payment request to you.
- Keep your app open and nearby. Once you tap "Send money", switch straight to MB Way to approve the payment within the 4-minute window.
- Check your transfer limits. MB Way payments are subject to the limits set by your bank. If a payment is declined, check with your bank or try a lower amount.
