If your transfer wasn’t confirmed, but you see a charge on your bank account, don’t worry — you haven’t been charged yet. What you’re seeing is a pending authorization, not a completed payment. This hold will automatically disappear if the transfer doesn’t go through.
Why does my Ria payment show as 'pending'?
When you make a transfer with Ria and pay by credit or debit card, we send an authorization request to your bank. Once the bank approves it, they place a temporary hold on the funds. This shows up as a ‘pending’ charge on your bank account.
We only collect the payment once your transfer is confirmed. Until then, the charge remains pending.
What if my transfer wasn’t confirmed?
If you don’t see the transfer in the Home section of your Ria account (online or in the app), it means the transfer wasn’t confirmed - and that we won’t collect the payment.
However, the pending charge may still appear on your bank account for a short time. This is because your bank has temporarily held the funds. Once they recognize that the transfer wasn’t completed, they’ll release the hold, and the pending charge will disappear.
You’ll see the return to your account, without a refund transaction.
💡 Tip: If you're unsure why your transfer wasn’t confirmed, we recommend contacting your bank for more information.
Why don't I see a refund?
If your transfer was canceled before we collected payment, the transaction was voided - not refunded. This means:
- The money never left your account.
- You won’t see a refund; the pending charge will simply disappear.
This is different from a refund issued after a completed payment, where the amount shows as a credit to your account.

How long do payment reversals take?
Payment reversals typically take 3 to 5 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.
If it’s been longer than 5 business days and the money's still on hold or unavailable, please contact your bank directly for support.
